Learn about Sailing, navigating life, and SOULFUL FRiendship

We sail on South Okanagan Lake on ‘Anam Cara’, our stable 46’ Hunter 460 sailing yacht.

During the day, we will teach you some basic sailing and navigation techniques, and you will get a chance for some hands on learning. Guests are encouraged to participate in the sailing as much as desired.

We offer more than just sailing too! Explore how to better navigate your life. Learn how to better respond to the winds of change. We bring together the skill of sailing and the art of wisdom: ‘sailing with soul’. It is a mix of water, waves, sunshine, laughter, learning, friendship and also a meaningful encounter with one another.

Why is our sailboat named Anam Cara? An anam cara is a Gaelic phrase for a devoted companion: a friend that relies on the experiences of equity, silence, wit, fierce kindness, recognition and belonging, rather than reliance on professional expertise. A soulful friendship “awakens my life in order to free the wild possibilities within me.” Friendship is grounded in mutuality and reciprocal learning. The arts of accompaniment, presence and regard are at the core of this relationship.

Sailing together grants us an invitation to be anam cara for one another!
